Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking a full-time night-shift nurse leader to coordinate patient care across PACU and inpatient units. You will develop and adjust individualized care plans based on orders, monitor progress, and collaborate with physicians and anesthesia to ensure comprehensive care.

You will supervise nursing assistants, educate families, respond to emergencies, and participate in quality initiatives, with opportunities for professional development through the Clinical Ladder

Qualifications

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care.
• Basic computer skills – navigate Windows-based programs.
• Supervision experience and skills required.
• Maintains current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients on the unit.
• Accurately identifies problems affecting the service and implements solutions.
• Supports staff involvement in project teams/committees.
• Projects are completed with attention to quality, practice, and education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care across departments (PACU, inpatient units, Radiology, anesthesia).
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments and orders.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other providers for coordinated care.
• Manage daily schedules and endoscopy staffing/equipment.
• Prioritize patient needs based on acuity and urgency.
• Educate patients and families about plans and health management.
• Respond to emergencies and stabilize patients.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
