Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to provide shift-to-shift leadership and ensure safe, efficient patient care in the unit. The role blends hands-on nursing with administrative responsibilities, guiding staff and coordinating with physicians and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, performance improvement, and compliance with Joint Commission and hospital policies. A BSN is preferred; Iowa RN license required; 12 months RN experience required.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license or compact license.
• BSN preferred.
• 12 months RN experience required; 24 months preferred.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily unit operations and staffing during the assigned shift.
• Serve as liaison between nurses, physicians and administrative teams.
• Provide staff orientation and clinical guidance to ensure quality care.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards and Joint Commission requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement and incident follow-up.
