Position Summary

To provide nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practices, regulations, and directed by the Director of Nursing. To lead or direct licensed and non-professional staff in the delivery of direct resident care and support functions.

Qualifications
  • Must have a current LVN/RN license
  • CPR certification required
  • Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal or written instructions in English
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions
Essential Functions
  • Ensure resident safety
  • Plan, organize, and direct nursing functions of patients in the unit
  • Make appropriate nursing assignments based on skill levels
  • Maintain standards of patient care
  • Identify problems and guide personnel to solutions
  • Create a positive work environment that promotes growth and satisfaction
  • Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly
  • Support infection-control policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and a professional approach
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, medical team, and visitors
  • Obtain and document comprehensive nursing histories
  • Perform basic patient assessments and monitor vital signs
  • Notify physicians of changes in patient condition
  • Develop and communicate care plans for patients
  • Follow established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Supervise nonprofessional personnel and accept accountability for clinical care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families
  • Perform basic technical skills competently
  • Respond appropriately in emergencies
  • Adhere to policies and seek guidance when needed
  • Promote positive public relations and use tactful communication
  • Maintain appropriate workplace behavior and dress code
  • Utilize electronic medical record charting (PointClickCare)
Physical Requirements

Ability to perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
