Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct nursing care to residents.
  2. Supervise daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  4. Maintain high quality of care at all times.
  5. Complete and file required records upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge.
  6. Encourage physicians to review and sign treatment plans and orders.
  7. Record physician’s orders and transcribe them into resident charts.
  8. Chart nurses’ notes accurately, reflecting care provided and resident responses.
  9. Complete accident/incident reports and submit to the Director.
  10. Record diet orders and communicate with Food Services.
  11. Report discrepancies in physician’s orders or charting to the Nurse Supervisor.
  12. Ensure proper documentation of resident discharges.
  13. Perform routine charting duties as per policies.
  14. Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
  15. Verify resident identity before medication administration.
  16. Maintain adequate supplies of medications and report needs.
  17. Order medications, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  18. Maintain accurate narcotic records and report discrepancies.
  19. Review medication cards for accuracy and adherence to policies.
  20. Notify physicians of automatic stop orders before last dosage.
  21. Dispose of drugs and narcotics properly.
  22. Direct daily functions of nursing assistants following regulations.
Qualifications
  • Relevant nursing license (LVN or RN).
  • Experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate nursing activities.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
