Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for performing the following according to location standards, procedures, and individualized resident care plans:

  1. Assist with formulating a plan of care for residents in the pertinent area.
  2. Provide nursing care to residents according to physician orders and regulations.
  3. Update the plan of care as needed.
  4. Observe and document observations and care given to residents.
  5. Use the EMR accurately.
  6. Ensure physicians are notified and orders are processed.
  7. Receive and share information; observe and report residents’ conditions.
  8. Respond promptly to resident call lights.
  9. Direct and assist with resident, family/significant other education.
  10. Notify family of condition changes, etc.
  11. Handle linens properly and dispose of soiled linens, clothing, or supplies in adherence to regulations and guidelines.
  12. Use standard precautions by wearing personal protective equipment and observing transmission guidelines, washing hands between resident cares.
  13. Report and ensure timely follow-up of signs/symptoms of resident infections.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience in a similar or related position may be helpful. Licensure for the state of practice is required.

Knowledge of the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.
