Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Valid Florida RN license required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) with 6 months validity.
• Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related nursing experience.
• HIPAA knowledge and patient privacy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Implements and coordinates delivery of care in collaboration with physicians and other staff.
• Uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in care.
• Documents all pertinent information regarding nursing care and care plans.
• Accounts for narcotics and emergency equipment on each tour of duty.
• Maintains infection control procedures and HIPAA compliance.
• Recognizes and reports significant patient findings or inconsistencies.
• Collaborates for corrective action and adheres to clinical protocols and discharge plans.
• Performs unit rounds to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Assumes charge nurse role when assigned and supervises staff as needed.
• Provides direction to LPNs and CNAs and assists with new staff orientation.
• Uses clinical judgment to identify unit needs and implement actions.
• Follows unit policies, equipment use, and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Expertise).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
