Job summary

Alameda Health System seeks a Charg e Nurse for SLH Med Surg on the second floor in San Leandro, CA. This part-time, day-shift role requires leadership of nursing staff and responsibility for patient care operations during assigned shifts.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure in California, 2+ years of RN experience (or 3 years full-time in a large acute facility), and relevant certifications. The position offers a competitive hourly pay range and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum Experience: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse II with AHS or the equivalent of three years full-time professional nursing experience in a large acute facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing or nursing support personnel and manage operation of an assigned area for each shift.
• Perform Nurse Leader rounds to assess care and adjust assignments as needed.
• Monitor and document patient care, assess nursing needs, and consult with physicians as required.
• Promote infection control, quality assurance, and coordination of care with other departments.
• Foster safe, therapeutic environment and effective communication among staff, patients, and families.
