Job summary

Redwood Coast Medical Services seeks a Charge Nurse to lead care delivery in our rural coastal clinics. This hands-on role balances direct patient care with mentoring staff, coordinating clinical flow, and supporting team success under the Director of Clinical Operations.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license is required.
• Experience in primary care or community health (FQHC or rural health preferred); urgent care experience is a plus.
• Strong clinical skills in preventive care, immunizations, and patient education.
• Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including nurse visits, immunizations, and Medicare Annual Wellness Visits.
• Support daily clinical operations, program compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff, medical assistants, and care teams.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and development of clinical staff.
• Partner with providers and population health teams to support preventive care and close care gaps.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
• Provide occasional clinical support in urgent care as needed.

Charge Nurse – Lead Care Where It Matters Most

We're looking for a Charge Nurse with strong clinical skills and a team-focused mindset. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who has supported, mentored, or guided colleagues and is ready to take the next step into clinical leadership. Whether you've served in a formal lead role or demonstrated leadership through coaching, training, problem-solving, and supporting team success, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a hands-on position where you'll balance direct patient care with helping keep our clinics and urgent care operating in an organized, efficient, and supportive environment. You'll work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, who oversees day-to-day operations across multiple departments and locations, while you help coordinate clinical flow, support staff development, and serve as a key resource for the care team.
