Salary Range: $51.42 To $74.18 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Practice Nurse Act, plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff; manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in major inpatient units and outpatient units as directed; and to perform related work as required.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

This class reports directly to a senior level hospital management staff member. Week-end rotation is required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Possession of Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting. Adequate experience to demonstrate critical thinking with organizational skills in performing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Licensure/Certification: Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• Chemo Certification, PALS, NRP, FHM (unit specific)

  • Nursing processes and its application to patient care.
  • Teaching, coaching and mentoring processes.
  • Licensure, accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Personnel scheduling, group dynamics, teambuilding and conflict management, problem solving and management techniques
  • Hospital established policies, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures and Nursing Practice Act of the State of California.
  • Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing.
