Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA seeks a Charge Master Specialist to lead charge master maintenance, coordinate changes, and ensure compliance with payer requirements. This role supports the Business Office and patient billing processes across departments.

You will analyze payer rules, generate reports using Meditech and MS Office, and drive process improvements while upholding confidentiality and accuracy in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of revenue cycle experience in charge capture, payer reimbursement, billing or coding.
• Experience preferred with charge master maintenance and related audits.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and approve all changes to the Charge Master within the organization’s guidelines.
• Review third-party payer charging requirements related to claims filing, coding, and adjudication.
• Ensure charge changes are processed in accordance with policy and payer regulations.
• Monitor/respond to third-party payer laws, rules and requirements affecting charging.
• Coordinate periodic comprehensive charge master reviews.
• Provide educational charge master information to staff and physicians.
• Safeguard confidentiality of patient information per hospital policy.
• Maintain knowledge of compliance regulations related to charging.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
• Develop and maintain reports from software as required.
