Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida’s Life Plan Community in Bradenton, FL, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time, 40-hour work week on the 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm). The LPN will supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse, implement physician-ordered resident care, and coordinate with doctors for updates to orders, ensuring accurate medication passes and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification is required.
• One year of long term care desirable.
• Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful; experience with handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as the Charge Nurse; ensure CNAs follow physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders and evaluate care; communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
• Assist with evaluation of residents for medical needs and planning resident care; enter physician orders into ECS.
• Ensure residents receive medications based on doctor orders and complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart and audit PRN medications and controlled substances.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required; monitor glucose, temperature and blood pressure.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting).
