Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Charge Analyst for a full-time, hybrid role. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with travel to various hospital locations and majority work-from-home.

You will review charge items for accuracy and coordinate with clinical departments. Responsibilities include leveraging clinical and coding knowledge, addressing billing edits, and liaising with the Epic Team on medication charges, while supporting audits

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • 1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies.
  • Analyzes content of system-generated reports and software edits to facilitate revisions with appropriate clinical departments.
  • Serves as liaison to the appropriate Epic Team concerning medication charges and billing.
  • Participates in departmental auditing processes as requested.

The salary range for this position is $17.05 - $21.31 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description
  • This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday. 8am to 4:30pm. This role is a hybrid model, with majority of work being work from home, with some office time required. Travel to hospital locations in the North, Northwest and South suburbs would be required. **

The Charge Analyst reviews, analyzes, and coordinates charge master activities for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
