Job summary

We Make RI is seeking a Machine Operator for a Monday–Friday schedule with additional Saturdays as needed. The role requires safe operation of production line machinery, setup, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance to ensure product quality.

Must follow SOPs, participate in changeovers, and maintain sanitation standards. Candidates should have a high school diploma and basic mechanical aptitude, with bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Qualifications

  • Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Training in safety, sanitation, and production processes required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production line machinery per SOPs.
  • Perform equipment changeovers and adjustments to meet specs.
  • Monitor machines for malfunctions or defects and troubleshoot.
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment for sanitation and safety.
  • Measure and inspect product dimensions using templates or gauges.
  • Assist with stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished goods.
  • Complete production logs and communicate issues to supervisors.
  • Follow PPE requirements and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Perform minor maintenance such as oiling and cleaning components.

Job description

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 2:45p-11:30p. Saturdays as needed The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production line machinery. This includes equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance to ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate production line machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform equipment changeovers and adjustments to meet production specifications.
  • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or product defects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues during production.
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure sanitation and safety compliance.
  • Measure and inspect product dimensions using templates or measuring instruments.
  • Assist with stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished goods.
  • Complete production logs and communicate issues to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling and cleaning components.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Awareness of sanitation and hygiene practices in a food production environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.
  • Training in general safety, sanitation, and production processes required.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and moving machinery.
  • Requires standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive motion for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hair nets, frocks, ear plugs, and safety glasses is mandatory.

Salary Range : 21.8 - 21.8 USD / hour

Salary Description :

this role also includes a $2/hr shift differential for 2nd shift.
