Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in the United States seeks a Characterization Engineering Intern to join our Advanced Cellular group.

You will support RF test and data analysis, develop automation and tools, and contribute to experimental characterization under mentorship. Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with strong programming (Python/C#) and data analysis skills, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Programming language exposure: Python, C# or similar object-oriented language.
• Exposure to data analysis software: Spotfire, JMP, R.
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Create automated test software to control test equipment and execute test sequences.
• Assist on the design and development of test hardware solutions to perform complex RF measurements.
• Perform RF test equipment evaluation and down selection.
• Support RF characterization testing and data analysis to provide full compliance information on Skyworks products.
• Measuring RF products and test devices using test equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators and digital pattern generators.
• Processing, verifying and analyzing the measured data; producing clear concise presentations and reports.
• Developing custom tool sets to aid in data visualization and big data analysis, lab efficiency tracking, and lean manufacturing metrics.

Skyworks' Characterization Engineering Internshipsare offered in our Advanced Cellular business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Required Experience and Skills

Desired Experience and Skills

• Analog/RF circuit design coursework and/or experience preferred

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
