Job summary

Stryker Corporation seeks a Chapter Executive to provide administrative leadership and coordination for Chapter activities. You will supervise daily operations, manage records, and ensure compliance with governing documents and policies.

Responsibilities include budgeting, board meeting planning, and liaison work with the National office and members. This contractor role requires independent work with no employee benefits, while promoting Chapter growth and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts, preferably in Non-profit Management or Business.
  • Leadership, Communication, Creative Vision and Organizational abilities.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with the metalworking industry and technical education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise daily operations of the Chapter.
  • Assess management needs and advise the Board on structural or funding changes.
  • Maintain Chapter records and ensure compliance with regulations and bylaws.
  • Plan and manage board meetings; report to the Board monthly.
  • Assist with budgeting and financial reporting; coordinate funding initiatives.
  • Liaise with National office and local Board; facilitate events, sponsorships and registrations.
  • Maintain Chapter website and social media; promote Chapter activities and public relations.
  • Develop relationships with officials and agencies; support Chapter goals and leadership initiatives.

Job description

Summary of Functions: The Chapter Executive provides management functions and administrative leadership as well as coordination, support, and on-going supervision of all Chapter activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Chapter Administration
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily operations and business of the Chapter
  • Continually assess the management and organizational needs of the Chapter and make recommendations to the Board when changes in structure, funding or support may be advisable
  • Assume responsibility for the maintenance of all Chapter records and files
  • Assure that the Chapter, its Directors, and committees are operating in compliance with the NTMA Code of Regulations and Component Chapter's By-Laws and Policies
  • Work with the Board to develop short and long term goals
  • Coordinate action items and provide follow up reporting
  • Plan and help manage Chapter board meetings
  • Such other duties as may be assigned by the the President, Executive Committee, and The Board
Membership
  • Maintain accurate records of regular and associate members and communicate regular member updates with the chapter’s Board
  • Work with the Board to identify potential members and facilitate the recruitment of regular and associate members
  • Maintain open communication with regular members to determine membership needs, encourage participation in Chapter and National activities, and increase awareness of value added Chapter and National benefits
  • Maintain regular communication with associate members to determine ways in which programs of mutual benefit can be identified and implemented
  • Schedule a visit with each regular member once per calendar year
Financial
  • Work with Bookkeeper monthly to reconcile and present financials to the board
  • Identify non-dues revenue sources and work with the Board and appropriate committees to create, implement, and coordinate such programs and activities
  • Work with committees to determine funding, resource, and support needs
  • Assist the Board of Directors in developing an annual budget
  • Schedule, attend, and keep record of all scheduled Board meetings
  • Report staff activity and tasks accomplished to the Board monthly
  • Provide informational and resource support to Board as needed
  • Provide support to the programs committee for event promotion, sponsorships, and registration
  • Liaison between National office and local membership/Board of Directors
Promotion & Public Relations
  • Work with the marketing team and utilize the Chapter's website and social media to market the Chapter
  • Identify relevant resources and develop/maintain working relationships with elected officials, economic development agencies, and industry-related government and civic organizations to help the Chapter achieve its goals
  • Maintain relationship between Chapter and National offices
  • Attend national NTMA conferences as approved by the Chapter and participate in Chapter Leadership Summit
Other Duties
  • Website Updates & Social Media
  • Keep the Chapter website current with updates for events, news etc.
  • Provide updates to members and the community at large on key activities and news via social media networks
  • Organizational Relationships: Attend NTMA CE Team Virtual Sessions
Skills
  • Bachelor of Arts, preferably in Non-profit Management or Business with a minimum of 5 years’ executive experience.
