Position: Chaplain - Hospice - PRN - Flexible Schedule

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Administrator or Executive Director.
• Provide spiritual services to hospice patients and families.
• Participate in developing the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Visit patients/families for spiritual support, counseling, prayer, and ministry.
• Assist the interdisciplinary team in understanding spiritual concerns related to dying.
• Serve as a liaison for community spiritual leaders.
• Train and educate hospice staff, volunteers, clergy, and community members in spiritual care.

Qualifications

The candidate must meet ONE of the following:

• BS or BA in theology, religion, human services, counseling, psychology, or sociology, as required by state regulations.
• A Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, theology, or divinity (preferred).
• At least one unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

Additional experience required includes:

• Two years of active spiritual care ministry, with demonstrated ability to work with diverse patients, families, and community spiritual leaders.
• Three years of hospice spiritual care support and one year of clinical pastoral education (preferred).
