CHAPLAIN/ RABBI- BRIDGING LIFE HOSPICE-PRN

JOB SUMMARY

Ensures that all services are delivered in accordance with the Mission Statement and S.P.I.R.I.T. Values of Carroll Hospice and Carroll Hospital Center. The Chaplain assists the Interdisciplinary Team to develop a comprehensive plan of care and facilitate optimal patient care for each patient and family. The Chaplain provides guidance for the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) on matters of spiritual counsel and spiritual resources, including prayer and sacraments for the patient and family members. The Chaplain, as requested, provides spiritual care to patients, family members, facility staff, and hospice interdisciplinary colleagues.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Required Master's Degree: Master of Divinity or Master of Pastoral Counseling Degree required. Four or more units of clinical pastoral education required, preferably in a hospice or palliative care setting.
  • Minimum of one year of chaplaincy experience in a health care setting; two years with terminally ill patients and their families preferred. Ordination by a recognized body, church, or denomination preferred.
  • Ordination or Commissioned by recognized religious body.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Fleet Safety Requirements. Interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) required in order to educate and comfort patients and their families, maintain effective contacts, and maintain appropriate documentation records.
