Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking a School Chaplain for an independent school in Vero Beach, Florida, starting in Fall 2026. The role focuses on developing a meaningful chapel program across Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, and providing pastoral care to the school community.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Divinity or related field, has experience leading worship services, and demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills. Episcopal affiliation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and leading worship services.
• Ministry experience preferred.
• No teaching license or credential required.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with school community activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a meaningful and inclusive Chapel program for the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.
• Collaborate with school administration to facilitate pastoral care and counseling for community members as needed.
• Plan and oversee major school worship services and liturgical events.
• Support school events with opening prayers and pastoral presence as requested.
• Promote and encourage the spiritual well-being of the community.
• Oversee school's community service and outreach programs.
• Lead bible study for lower, middle, and upper school students and families.
• Oversee annual Chaplaincy budget ensuring strategic allocation of resources.
• Teach classes as assigned by the Head of School and Division Heads.

• Previous independent school experience preferred, but not required.
