Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a part-time PACE Chaplain to serve as a clinical spiritual care provider who supports patients, participants, families, and staff by addressing spiritual distress, crises, and major life transitions.
As an integrated member of the interdisciplinary health team, the chaplain assesses spiritual needs, documents interventions in the medical record, contributes to care planning, develops programs, and collaborates with faith leaders to sustain sacred spaces.
Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: The Trinity Health PACE Chaplain serves as a clinical spiritual care provider who supports patients, participants, families, and staff by addressing spiritual distress, grief, crisis situations, and major life transitions. As an integrated member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the chaplain assesses spiritual needs, delivers individualized care aligned with diverse beliefs, documents interventions in the medical record, and contributes to holistic care planning. The role also includes developing and improving spiritual care programs, educating staff, promoting workplace spirituality, facilitating religious practices in collaboration with community faith leaders, and maintaining sacred spaces. Additionally, the chaplain is expected to uphold ethical and professional standards, engage in ongoing self-care and formation, and possess the necessary education, clinical training, and communication skills to effectively meet the spiritual needs of the community served.
Monday - Friday, Morning Shift - 20 hours per week Pay Range: $27.66-$34.57/hr
Provide compassionate, individualized spiritual care to patients, families, and staff.
Facilitate support during illness, crisis, grief, and end-of-life situations.
Ensure respect for diverse religious and cultural beliefs within care.
Assess spiritual and religious needs, including spiritual distress and ethical concerns.
Develop and implement care plans with appropriate interventions or referrals.
Document spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Serve as an active member of the healthcare team, contributing to holistic care planning.
Partner with clinical staff to address spiritual dimensions of patient care.
Develop and support spiritual care programs aligned with organizational goals.
Educate staff on recognizing and responding to spiritual needs.
Promote workplace spirituality and staff well-being initiatives.
Facilitate prayer, worship, sacraments, and meditation opportunities.
Collaborate with community clergy and faith leaders.
Support and maintain sacred spaces.
Uphold ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
Participate in ongoing self-care, professional development, and formation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of spiritual care services.
Fast-paced healthcare setting with emotionally complex situations.
Requires adaptability, resilience, and strong organizational skills.
Involves travel between care sites.
