University Health is seeking a Chaplain who addresses spiritual, emotional and relational health needs for patients, families and staff. The role requires a Master’s degree in theology with an M.Div preferred, plus four CPE units and a residency preference to ensure high-quality pastoral care.
The candidate should be eligible for APC board certification, with ecclesiastical endorsement to support ministry within the hospital. This position emphasizes ethics, compassion and teamwork.
Addresses the spiritual, emotional and relational health needs of patients, their loved ones, and the hospital staff, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religious preference. Exhibits empathy, interpersonal skills and analytical ability to assess spiritual needs and to provide assistance in complex moral, spiritual and ethical matters.
Master's degree from an accredited theological school is required. Master of Divinity is preferred. Four units of certified Clinical Pastoral Education through an accredited CPE center is required. One year clinical residency through an ACPE accredited CPE center is preferred.
Eligible for board certification with/through Association of Professional Chaplains or Cognate group. Ecclesiastical endorsement is required. Board Certification preferred.
