University Hospital in Texas seeks a chaplain to address spiritual, emotional and relational health needs of patients, loved ones, and staff, across ages and backgrounds. The role requires empathy, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex moral and ethical matters.
Education: Master’s in theology; Master of Divinity preferred; completion of CPE and residency experience preferred. This is a full‑time position within a department dedicated to compassionate care.
Addresses the spiritual, emotional and relational health needs of patients, their loved ones, and the hospital staff, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religious preference. Exhibits empathy, interpersonal skills and analytical ability to assess spiritual needs and to provide assistance in complex moral, spiritual and ethical matters.
Master’s degree from an accredited theological school is required. Master of Divinity is preferred. Four units of certified Clinical Pastoral Education through an accredited CPE center is required. One year clinical residency through an ACPE accredited CPE center is preferred.
Eligible for board certification with/through Association of Professional Chaplains or Cognate group. Ecclesiastical endorsement is required. Board Certification preferred.
