Job summary

Baptist Health Memphis is seeking a compassionate chaplain to provide pastoral care to patients, families and staff on nights, weekends, and on-call rotations. The role reports to the director of Pastoral Care and includes crisis and bereavement support, worship services, and educational events within the hospital setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year service in a Southern Baptist church or clinical pastoral experience.
• Bachelor's degree; Master of Divinity or equivalent.
• CPE 1600 hours; preferably in residence.
• Driver's license and eligibility for endorsement by NAMB.

Responsibilities

• Provides pastoral care through routine and/or referral visitation.
• Provides crisis and bereavement care during deaths, codes, and emergencies.
• Contributes to development and implementation of support activities for patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Summary Job Summary Projects God's love by providing pastoral care to patients, families and colleagues through routine and/or referral visitation, crisis and bereavement care, support activities, educational events, and worship services. These services are provided during the staff member's assigned shift and on-call rotations for nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Staff members are subject to recall as needed. The position is under the general supervision and direction of the director of Pastoral Care. Performs other duties as assigned.

Specifications Experience Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired 1 year service in a Southern Baptist church or institution, or previous clinical pastoral experience in any institution. 2 years Education Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Bachelor's degree, Master of Divinity (or equivalent) from an accredited seminary, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)1600 hours of CPE (4 units). >1600 hours (4 or more units) of CPE preferably in residence.

Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Licensure Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired DRIVER'S LICENSE (CURRENT) Eligibility for endorsement by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Eligibility for membership in the Association of Professional Chaplains.
