Job summary

Rocket Lab in Chantilly, VA seeks a Facility Security Officer / Contractor Program Security Officer to lead the security program for DoD/IC programs. You will manage FCL, CPSO duties for SAPs, and oversee physical security, personnel security, and program protection plans across multiple programs.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, DoD/IC security experience, and strong leadership. Base pay range in Virginia is $115,000–$150,000 annually with stock options and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with a current Tier 5 investigation and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/certification.
• Must reside within a 60 minute commute of the Chantilly facility and be willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the FSO for the Chantilly facility and maintain the Facility Clearance (FCL) in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
• Administer all industrial security programs for multiple programs in compliance with DoDM 5205.07, 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and ICDs.
• Serve as CPSO for assigned SAPs and liaise with GPSO on security matters.
• Develop and enforce comprehensive security plans for protected hardware and launch vehicles, including SOPs, CONOPS, EAP, PPP, CSP, and FFC.
• Lead physical security for the site including access control, IDS, CCTV, and badge systems.
• Maintain accreditation of SCIFs/SAPFs in accordance with ICD 705 and DoD standards.
• Conduct security surveys, risk assessments, and implement countermeasures; support DCSA reviews.
• Oversee security education/training programs and PERSEC functions; manage personnel security records in SORs.
• Support Business Development with security requirements for proposals and respond to incidents.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
