The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing. We have created a new leadership role, Channel Marketing Director, to drive our Go-To-Market strategy across our partner ecosystem, from silicon to public cloud, through channel and hardware manufacturers. As the publisher of Ubuntu and a leading open source provider, we support partners technically and commercially in various innovative value chains (Public Cloud, Cybersecurity, AI, IoT).

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will lead a team of marketing managers running partner programs. You will work closely with our partners to position Canonical as their trusted partner for open source products and solutions. You will be responsible for maximizing the ROI of our campaigns supporting partner motions (sell-to, sell-through, sell-with).

The partner marketing team comprises talented professionals skilled in formulating joint value propositions, running lead generation campaigns, creating compelling messages/assets, and selecting effective channels through complex supply chains. They are passionate about technology, enterprise users, and advanced partner analytics technologies.

Location: This role is home-based in the AMER region.

The role entails:

  1. Building a marketing strategy to drive pipeline growth and revenue through key partners (Silicon, IHV, ODM, Channel, GSI).
  2. Aligning with growth, field, and product marketing to deliver integrated activities.
  3. Executing partner campaigns across the funnel from recruitment to demand generation.
  4. Engaging and elevating the partner community with exceptional content, in collaboration with communication, product, and alliances teams.
  5. Multiplying partners' impact through programmatic approaches.
  6. Crafting bespoke plans and joint value propositions to stand out.
  7. Championing partner collaboration internally and externally.
  8. Managing Marketing Development Funds (MDF) usage.
  9. Driving adoption of analytics and reporting tools to improve ROI.
  10. Mentoring and developing a diverse team of partner marketers.
  11. Cultivating a culture of testing and optimization.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong understanding of the technology ecosystem (Silicon, IHV, ISV, ODM/OEMs, cloud providers, channels).
  • Leadership in aligning diverse partners around GTM strategies.
  • Proven success in co-marketing programs within the tech space.
  • Experience reporting on complex partner marketing activities.
  • Ability to foster a culture of excellence, agility, and self-drive.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning mindset.
  • Outstanding English communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Exceptional academic results at high school and university.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for up to two weeks.

Additional preferred:

  • Familiarity with specific verticals (e.g., Telco, Finance, Industrial, Automotive).
  • Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
