Job Description

Job Title: Channel letter Fabricator

Reports To: Sheet Metal Supervisor

Department: Production

Division: Sheet Metal

Summary: Fabricate channel letter sets per design specifications. Other duties may be assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Proficient at reading and understanding orders, drawings and prints.
• Reads and uses tape measures accurately.
• Ability to perform light metal finishing.
• Build channel letters sets: run channel letter machine, jewel light the letters.
• Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment in department including:
• Channel letter machine (open and check files for accuracy)
• Channel letter stapling machine
• Hand tools
• Accounts for materials used on jobs by accurately completing work order travelers in a timely manner.
• Assist with training lower-tiered employees. *
• Efficient in conducting all areas of the department's business on a daily basis.
• Adheres to safety policy.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and up to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability

Ability to apply basic math and geometry concepts to calculate figures such as length, height & width and area, ability to calculate proportions and percentages and the ability to convert units of measure such as feet to inches or fractions to their decimal equivalent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems encountered in a custom manufacturing environment where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must understand and be able to run channel letter software.
