Overview: The Solairus Aviation Maintenance Supervisor will conduct or lead all aspects of maintenance performed on assigned aircraft, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures regarding airworthiness standards. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance tracking, long-term planning, scheduling and completion of maintenance events, and financial responsibility for costs incurred associated with maintenance operations. This position reports to the Director of Maintenance and/or the Client Aviation Manager (CAM).
Essential Responsibilities / Duties
- Maintain a valid Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Oversee all maintenance activities of assigned aircraft, implementing standards, methods, and procedures established by Solairus Aviation to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer's recommendations, and company policies.
- Coordinate maintenance training requirements with the Director of Maintenance (DOM) and/or CAM.
- Develop and manage a budget for aircraft maintenance, parts & labor, tooling, equipment, and facilities.
- Supervise and approve expenditures related to assigned aircraft.
- Participate in Safety Management Systems and perform duties delegated by the DOM, Maintenance Operations Manager, and CAM.
- Supervise aircraft maintenance personnel, including company and non-company staff, ensuring quality and completeness of maintenance, interior and exterior cleaning.
- Coordinate with outside maintenance organizations and conduct vendor evaluations.
- Maintain complete records of inspections, repairs, component changes, flight times, AD notes, service bulletins, and FAA maintenance instructions.
- Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins.
- Remove unsafe aircraft from service and ensure aircraft are airworthy before returning to operation.
- Maintain operational readiness of aircraft with minimal scheduling impact.
- Serve as liaison with the FAA regarding maintenance policies.
- Maintain certification and technical recency requirements per 14 CFR 65.83.
- Perform internal audits of tools, calibration, and material control, ensuring availability of necessary tools, parts, and support equipment.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid A&P license.
- At least 10 years' experience in Corporate Aircraft Maintenance.
- Knowledge of CFRs and aircraft maintenance standards.
- Proficient in planning, implementation, and management of maintenance programs.
- Highly motivated, committed to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
- Remain fit for duty and abstain from drug and alcohol abuse.
Specific Qualifications / Certifications
- Recent experience with Challenger 3500 (within the past 24 months, for at least 6 months).
- Willing to relocate within 1 hour of KOXC if not already located there.
