Job summary

HealthPoint is seeking a Chairside Dental Assistant II to support dental providers, handle imaging, sterilization, and patient flow in a community health setting.

The role requires a dental assistant certificate and Washington state registration, with basic computer skills. A signing bonus of up to $3,000 may be offered based on experience, with four 10-hour shifts and rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform digital imaging, prophylaxis, sealants; record medication refills.
  • Sterilize equipment and prep operatories per OSHA/WISHA; stock supplies.
  • Greet and prepare patients, update patient records in EDR/EPM systems.
  • Ensure patient flow and confidentiality of records.

Dental Assistant II - ***Up to $3,000.00 Signing Bonus Depending on Experience***

Shift/Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:15 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Thursdays off. Rotating Saturdays, 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Position Summary:

The Chairside Dental Assistant (Dental Assistant II) is responsible for patient preparation, chair side support to dental providers, dental hygienist, sterilization, and clinic flow.

Your contribution to the team includes:
  • Greet and prepare patients for exams by identifying patient’s chief complaint and taking vitals.
  • Access and update patient information in Electronic Dental Record (EDR) and Electronic Practice Management (EPM) computer system as required.
  • Provide chair side assistance to dental providers with exams and procedures including, but not limited to, prophylaxis, root canals, restorative, crowns and bridges.
  • Perform digital imaging, prophylaxis, sealants, provide telephone refilling of medications. Record medication refills in patient record.
  • Provide instructions to patients on the use of medications as directed by the provider.
  • Provide instruction in home care and give general health information as directed by a provider.
  • Sterilize used equipment, instruments and operatories following OSHA, WISHA guidelines. Prepare and stock operatories at the start and throughout each day.
  • Act as liaison between receptionists and providers ensuring timely and orderlypatient flow throughout the clinic.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients medical/dental records, financial, and personal information.
Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:
  • Certificate from accredited Dental Assistant program or comparable experience of three (3) months of Dental Assistant Training.
  • Maintain current registration/licensure with the State of Washington.
  • Possesses basic operating knowledge of computers. Beginning level of Word, Excel and Outlook required.

Immunization Requirements

Employees working in a HealthPoint clinic must also provide proof of:
  • Tdap vaccination (within the last 10 years)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination (for clinical positions with potential exposure to blood or bloodborne pathogens)
