Job summary

Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for the Chair of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. Reporting to the dean, the Chair will lead the department in advancing a collaborative and strategic vision aligned with Strategic Vision 2030, during a period of growth and expansion of the Foster Hospital for Small Animals.

The Chair will oversee a dynamic faculty of over 50, residents, and staff, guiding education, clinical service, and research

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in an academic/clinical setting.
• Strong administrative and budget management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Experience mentoring faculty, residents, and students.

Responsibilities

• Foster a collegial environment and support faculty development.
• Champion the department's research and education goals through collaboration.
• Oversee department budget and administrative affairs in partnership with school leadership.
• Balance clinical service with scholarly productivity and research growth.
