Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for the position of Associate Professor or Professor and Chair - Psychology. The Department of Psychology seeks a dynamic, inclusive leader to guide scholarly teaching, research, and program development in a flagship HBCU.

The chair will manage strategic planning, budgeting, curriculum development, accreditation, and external partnerships while advancing diversity, equity, and excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited program.
• Experience suitable for Associate Professor or Professor rank.
• Minimum of three years in an administrative or management position at a comparable institution.
• Minimum of three years teaching at the collegiate level with emphasis on teaching, scholarship and engagement.
• Strong record of extramural funding.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership of the department with a focus on innovation and educator‑researcher emphasis.
• Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, curriculum development and program assessments.
• Recruit, develop and retain faculty and students; oversee course schedules and evaluations.
• Develop external partnerships and maintain accreditation standards.
• Conduct research in their area of expertise and publish in refereed journals.
