An established industry player is searching for a dynamic Chair for the Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology. This role involves overseeing an ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship, ensuring exceptional education and clinical training for residents and fellows. Thomas Jefferson University seeks a collaborative and engaging academic physician leader to serve as the next Chair of the Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, located on the University’s 13-acre campus in Center City Philadelphia.
Reporting to the Dean of Sidney Kimmel Medical College, the Chair will oversee all departmental programs, including an ACGME-accredited Dermatology residency and Dermatopathology fellowship, ensuring outstanding education, clinical training, and research opportunities for the Department’s residents and fellows, as well as students at the Medical College.
The Chair will oversee a growing academic practice and will ensure exceptional care is provided at the Department’s 3 outpatient offices and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital – Jefferson Health’s flagship quaternary care hospital and the University’s primary teaching hospital. The Department’s academic practice includes 11 clinical faculty, 3 advanced practice providers, 13 residents and fellows, and 2 histotechnologists.
Additionally, the successful candidate will play a key strategic role in "driving systemness” for the University’s health system partner – Jefferson Health, which has grown from a three-hospital, urban academic medical center to a network of 32 hospitals, comprised of both employed and independent physician practices contractually-aligned with Jefferson. In line with Jefferson’s commitment to providing enhanced access to value-based care, the Chair will pursue strategic opportunities to effectively scale the value proposition of a growing system, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, aligned with network standards and expected by Jefferson patients.
