Position Overview

The Chair and Program Administrator will lead the Department of Nurse Anesthesia Education, overseeing clinical instruction, academic programs, faculty, and compliance with accreditation standards. The role involves strategic leadership, program management, teaching, and clinical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as Chair of the Department and Program Administrator for the Nurse Anesthesia program.
  2. Provide clinical anesthesia care and supervise student registered nurse anesthetists at The University of Kansas Hospital.
  3. Lead curriculum development, faculty supervision, and student mentorship.
  4. Ensure program compliance with accreditation standards and manage clinical site affiliations.
  5. Participate in university leadership, budget management, and community partnerships.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DNAP, DNP or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Active licensure and eligibility for practice in Kansas.
  • Current CRNA certification and RN licensure.
  • Experience in program leadership, mentorship, teaching, and scholarship in nurse anesthesia.
