OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT

Job Summary

We are seeking a full‑time Ophthalmic Assistant with a strong work ethic and a desire to have a long‑term career with a successful optometric team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient work‑up, visual acuity, refracting, visual fields, OCT, tonometry, and contact lens insertion and removal.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform optometric pre‑testing including visual acuity, auto‑refraction, manual refraction, tonometry, topography, OCT, visual field, and manual lensometry.
• Record chief complaint, medications, and medical history.
• Assist patients with contact lens insertion, removal, and care compliance training.
• Assist and provide patients with excellent customer service and any necessary information regarding treatment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Full‑time position located in Fort Myers, FL.
• Shifts scheduled Monday‑Friday between 8 am and 5 pm.
• Travel to other locations as necessary.
