MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY:

The CFO Services Manager - Department of Defense Expertise is responsible for overseeing multiple client engagements and managing a team of Seniors and Accountants. The client service aspect will focus on outsourced accounting and interim Controller roles specifically supporting Department of Defense (DoD) clients. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in DoD accounting, finance, and compliance and possesses a deep understanding of DoD regulations, cost accounting, and government contract requirements. The Manager will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring staff, managing client relationships, and networking/practice development. This role reports to the Senior Manager and Shareholder.

MANAGER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides high-quality, value-add CFO Services to clients.
2. Ensures client compliance with DoD financial regulations, FAR, CAS, and other applicable federal guidelines.
3. Analyzes cost structures and recommends cost allocations and indirect rates.
4. Oversees DCAA audits, prepares responses to findings, and implements corrective actions.
5. Develops compliant cost proposals, including cost volumes and narratives.
6. Advises clients on budgeting and forecasting to support program management.
7. Reviews proposals, contract modifications, and facilitates contract onboarding.
8. Manages client expectations to provide exceptional service to a book of business.
9. Manages multiple ongoing engagements to meet client deadlines, schedules staff, and ensures staff time is properly utilized.
10. Builds and maintains relationships with key client contacts.
11. Looks for opportunities to create value, reduce costs, and maximize efficiencies for clients.
12. Reviews work of seniors and accountants for accuracy of accounting and financial reporting.
13. Mentors and coaches Seniors and Accountants.
14. Assists with Firm administrative tasks for CFO Services as needed (e.g., scheduling, sales pipelining, performance reviews, billing, etc.).
15. Ability to navigate QuickBooks Online and other ERP and accounting systems utilized by our clients.
16. Assists with hiring, developing, and managing CFO Services team members as assigned.
17. Meets annual budgeted billable hours.
18. Cultivates new business for the Firm and identifies additional services to provide to current clients of the Firm.
19. Cross-sells and identifies additional services to provide to current clients of the Firm.
20. Participates in Firm committees and activities.
21. Promotes the Firm positively in the community and through professional organizations involvement.
22. Performs other duties as assigned.

MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Master’s degree or continuing coursework is preferred.
2. 2+ years of managerial or direct supervisory experience.
3. Advanced computer literacy, including proficient use of all Microsoft Office products.
4. Valid Driver’s license and transportation to client sites up to 1 hour from the home office location.
5. Proven ability to work individually and collaboratively within a team setting.

7. Process-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
8. 7+ years of qualified work experience in finance or accounting supporting Department of Defense companies.
