Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finalize client's month end close and financial reporting for review.
  • Prepare and/or review work papers and schedules to ensure audit readiness.
  • Provide on-site services as requested and needed by tribal clients.
  • Participation in cross utilization of teams and/or lead software implementations, conversions and set-ups as assigned.
  • Review and train staff on balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and their personnel.
  • Obtain client expectations from internal management team and develop plan to meet client expectations.
  • Assist with mentoring new staff and building the team as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Public accounting experience e.g. outsourced accounting or audit preferred.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience servicing or working for tribal government entities required.
  • Experience with leading, developing and managing a team required.
  • 8+ years of experience with hands on full cycle accounting process including financial statement creation, preparation and review required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Uniform Guidance compliance required.
  • Experiencewith Sage Intacct and MIB softwares is preferred.
  • Required travel to client sites is 25%-35% (approximately 1-2 weeks per month).

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $125,000 to $185,000 with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
