Role Overview

This role provides outsourced accounting and advisory services to our clients within the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities

1. Manage a remote accounting team, including scope of work, job time budgets, and job profitability.
   • Provide CFO advisory services to clients via scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statement interpretation and use.
   • Serve as the direct point of contact for real estate investment client engagements.
   • Partner with clients from private equity, joint ventures, and other investors, focusing on the real estate industry.
   • Research and share best practices relevant to each client's business concerns.
   • Calculate investor returns, budget and forecast asset performance, and prepare financial data for loan covenants.
   • Advise on cash flow, debt structure, and leverage.
   • Leverage data analytics and embrace new technology, including various accounting software.
   • Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
   • Advise clients on process improvements in accounting departments and internal controls.
   • Meet with investors to review management reports and key performance indicators.
   • Prepare financial data for loan covenants when applicable.
2. Mentor and train direct reports to foster growth in their roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
2. 10+ years of comprehensive, hands-on full cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation within the commercial real estate industry.
3. Previous public accounting experience is preferred.
4. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
5. Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technology, including various accounting software.
6. Experience with Netsuite, Yardi, Appfolio, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Intacct is preferred but not required.
7. Proven ability to build and manage relationships.
8. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred but not required.
9. Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation reporting, and financial forecasting.
10. Demonstrates adaptability and quick learning ability.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this role is $125,000 to $185,000, with offers typically not at the maximum, allowing for future increases. Actual salary depends on factors like location, skills, experience, education, certifications, and business needs.

Potential for annual discretionary bonuses based on performance.
