Job summary

Cal Alumni Association (CAA) seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations, budgeting, and treasury for a $14M+ nonprofit with multiple revenue streams. The CFO will partner with the Executive Director and senior leadership, ensuring strong internal controls, donor compliance, and strategic planning.

The role oversees accounting, reporting, risk management, and investment oversight, mentoring the finance team while supporting the Board Finance and Investment Committee

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field.
• CPA certification required.
• 10+ years in financial management and treasury, 5+ years in nonprofit senior leadership.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, grants, and donor funds.
• Experience with multiple revenue streams and mission-driven organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close, accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Develop annual budgets and long-range financial plans.
• Oversee cash management, investments, and financial risk.
• Collaborate with Executive Director and Board committees on strategy.
• Ensure compliance with donor restrictions, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
