Job summary

NASCAR is seeking an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics Engineer to lead CFD initiatives from CAD through post-processing, collaborating with TotalSim USA. The role includes maintaining CFD models for NASCAR's three national series and supporting performance evaluation, liftoff analysis, and thermal studies.

You will assist with R&D wind tunnel testing, vehicle preparation, prototype fabrication, data analysis, and the new vehicle submission process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Master’s preferred; 1–2 years related experience or training.
Experience with CFD software and automotive aerodynamics is desirable.
Strong interest in race car aerodynamics and CFD, plus fundamentals in lift, drag, and numerical methods.

Responsibilities

Lead CFD program from CAD through post-processing in collaboration with TotalSim USA.
Maintain CFD models for NASCAR's three national series and support performance evaluation and studies.
Assist with R&D wind tunnel testing, vehicle prep, and data analysis.
Support the new vehicle submission process.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Travel ~10%, including some weekends.
