Job summary

NASCAR is seeking an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics Engineer to lead the CFD program, collaborate with TotalSim USA, and manage aero team concepts from CAD through post-processing.

You will maintain CFD models for all three NASCAR national series, assist with wind tunnel testing, support the vehicle submission process, and communicate effectively across internal teams and external partners; travel about 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1–2 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Experience with CATIA, Beta CAE ANSA, OpenFOAM, Siemens STAR-CCM+, or similar tools is highly desirable.
• Background in automotive aerodynamics, especially high-performance or racing vehicles, is preferred.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with CATIA, Beta CAE ANSA, OpenFoam, Siemens STAR-CCM+, ParaView, or similar tools is highly desirable.
• Background in automotive aerodynamics—especially high-performance or racing vehicles—is preferred.
• Strong interest in race car aerodynamics, CFD, and the role aerodynamics plays from single-vehicle performance to full-field behavior.
• Solid fundamentals in aerodynamics and CFD, including lift and drag, ground effects, and numerical simulation methods.
• Strong ability to interpret wind tunnel and on-car data.
