MISTRAS Group, a leading nondestructive testing and inspection company, seeks a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to verify welding bonds on customer sites in the United States. The role requires extensive knowledge of welding techniques, metals heating, and safety procedures, and involves crafting detailed inspection reports.
You will review welding specs, read fabrication drawings, perform welder qualifications and visual weld exams, and communicate findings to project managers and clients.
Certified welding inspectors are responsible for checking the welding bonds created on a job site. They need extensive knowledge of welding techniques and metal heating, and must also be well versed in safety procedures. Along with in-person inspections, certified welding inspectors also craft reports and inspect welding materials.
