The inspector is responsible for quality assurance on behalf of Bureau Veritas's client, in addition to on-site inspections during the construction phase. The ideal candidate must have demonstrable experience in a similar position.
Requirements:
- Communicating with the Project Managers to determine the specific requirements of a given work order, including the scope of work, deliverables, schedule, and budget for a particular assignment.
- Communicating with Project Managers, fabrication shops, contractors, BV employees, and other third parties to resolve issues.
- Reliable High-Speed Internet connection.
- Valid Driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ensure that services are performed in accordance with project requirements and the client contract.
- Financial ability to pay travel expenses for 1-2 weeks in advance, including lodging, meals, flights, rental cars, parking, tolls, and public transportation.
- Generate, process, and respond to timesheets, billing reports, expense reports, emails, instant messages, and inspection reports promptly and thoroughly, complying with all deadlines. All reports must be submitted in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat and transmitted electronically to the Project Manager.
- Communicate information from fabrication facilities regarding upcoming assignments and potential work.
- Maintain positive relationships between Bureau Veritas, fabrication facilities, and clients.
- Ability to work remotely, on-site, or from Bureau Veritas offices or work sites.
- Client-oriented approach with an emphasis on understanding and fulfilling client needs.
- Detail-oriented with a dedication to quality control and assurance; ability to read complex design and fabrication plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, capable of conveying technical issues effectively.
- Proficiency with desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, and MS Calendar; knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and other document control software.
- Ability to multitask and execute multiple assignments efficiently without sacrificing quality.
- Team player willing to collaborate with clients, field staff, other offices, and the global Bureau Veritas organization.
- Use of PPE: Ability to identify situations requiring additional PPE beyond standard issue.
- Use of a camera (smartphone) and ability to insert photos into client reports.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain stationary for long periods.
- Occasionally move within the workspace to access required areas.
- Operate computers and productivity equipment, including smartphones, tablets, calculators, copiers, and printers.
- Ascend/descend ladders and stairs as needed.
- Position self to access elevated or lowered workspaces.
- Communicate information clearly and accurately.
- Observe details at close range or from a distance.
Credentials Required:
- AWS CWI Certification
- NDT Level II
- NACE Level II
- NDT Level II or III
Credentials Preferred:
- ICC Bolting Certification
