Position Overview: Pennoni, an ENR Top 500 consulting engineering firm, is seeking full-time and part-time AWS Certified Welding Inspectors for QA inspection at fabrication shops producing bridge and highway structures in the Midwest.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials.
• Monitor work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with fabricators, clients, and engineers.
• Produce daily written shop reports.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with QA/QC during steel bridge or highway structure fabrication.
• Non-Destructive Testing certifications (e.g., UT, RT, MT, PT).
• AWS D1.1/D1.5 experience.
• Coating inspection experience.
