Job summary

ACS Manufacturing in Abbeville, SC is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure all welding activities and filed products meet AWS codes, customer specs, and internal quality standards.

You will perform inspections, maintain welder qualification records, support welding procedure compliance, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement and product quality at the Abbeville facility.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current AWS CWI certification.
• 3–5 years welding inspection experience.
• Strong reading of blueprints and weld symbols.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and related codes.
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies to ensure compliance with AWS and customer requirements.
• Verify WPS, PQR, and applicable welding codes are followed during production.
• Maintain welder qualification records and document results of tests.
• Review drawings and weld symbols to ensure specification conformance.
• Support internal and external audits and customer inspections.
• Assist in developing welding quality procedures and standards.
