Job summary

George's Welding Services Inc. in Miami seeks a Welding Inspector to assess welding activities, ensure compliance with codes, and uphold safety standards.

The role requires a CWI, knowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.5, and the ability to document inspections and coordinate with project teams.

You will support QA/QC programs, perform NDT coordination, and help improve fabrication quality on industrial projects.

Qualifications

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
  • Certified in Welding qualifications AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5.
  • Comprehensive understanding of welding processes SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW.
  • Proficient in interpreting welding symbols, blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication documents.
  • Knowledge of applicable AWS, ASME, API, and other industry standards.
  • Experience entering, maintaining, and tracking information using software.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
  • NDT level is required to perform PT, UT, MT, RT (Preferred level II).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and customer requirements.
  • Verify welder qualifications, welding procedures, and material traceability.
  • Conduct visual inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) when required.
  • Review and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and project documentation.
  • Identify non-conforming work and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, engineers, and clients regarding inspection findings.
  • Monitor fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of structural, and mechanical systems.
  • Verify pressure testing and mechanical system integrity.
  • Assist with QA/QC programs.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance related to welding quality.
  • Identify defects and discrepancies; collaborate with production and Project Management teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, suggesting modifications to procedures and processes to enhance overall product quality.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Welding Inspector plays a crucial role in examining welding activities, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards, confirming the quality of workmanship, and upholding a safe working environment.
