Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Perform inspections on large, complex, and diverse projects, requiring expertise in multiple areas of construction inspection, and oversee the work of other testing and inspection personnel.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed, following training and specified procedures, to ensure work complies with contract specifications.
  2. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  3. Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
  4. Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance issues.
  5. Perform basic data analysis to verify accuracy before communicating and submitting to the Project Manager.
  6. Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
  7. Interact with clients and site personnel to provide input on resolution of findings.
  8. Assist the Project Manager in developing scope for testing and inspection services.
  9. Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Project, Department, and/or Office Managers.
  10. Maintain equipment operation and calibration.
  11. Lead, provide direction, and coordinate activities of lower-level inspectors.
  12. Perform advanced fieldwork and assist with project management.
  13. Follow safety rules and practices, perform pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
  14. Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in construction inspection.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Required Certifications:

  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
  • At least four certifications in areas such as NICET Level II (Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical), ICC certifications, AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, or ACI certifications, as applicable.
  • Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation, if applicable.

The expected salary range for this position is $42.25 - $65.50 per hour, adjusted based on location, qualifications, and experience.
