  • Design & Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to optimize joint design, material selection, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
  • Failure Analysis & Metallurgy: Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) on weld defects, material failures, and structural fatigue; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Quality & NDT Oversight: Establish and oversee quality standards for welded assemblies; define appropriate non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (VT, UT, RT, MT, PT) and visual inspection acceptance criteria.
  • Equipment & Automation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement welding equipment, automation systems (e.g., robotic welding cells), tooling, and fixtures to improve productivity and quality.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Audits: Audit key suppliers, steel fabricators, and sub-tier vendors to ensure adherence to technical specifications, code compliance, and quality requirements.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, safety oversight, and training to welding technicians, operators, inspectors, and junior engineers.
