Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to oversee the quality of structural steel products across the manufacturing process in Terrell, Texas. The role focuses on visual inspections, MIG weld quality, and NDT testing to ensure compliance with specifications.

The ideal candidate will hold an AWS CWI certification and possess strong experience in structural welding, blueprints interpretation, and NDT methods.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is required.
• Strong experience inspecting structural steel welding.
• Experience with structural MIG/GMAW welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual welding inspections on approximately 60% of product prior to shipment.
• Inspect structural MIG welds with emphasis on Complete Joint Penetration (CJP).
• Conduct UT and MT inspections on seismic and load-bearing products.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols to verify compliance with specifications.
• Identify weld defects and collaborate with welders, supervisors, and production staff to correct issues.
• Support production by providing guidance on welding quality and inspection requirements.
