Job summary

Wells Concrete is seeking a safety-focused Certified Welder to assist in producing steel components by cutting, welding, and fabricating to blueprints. You will maintain strict adherence to safety practices while ensuring the highest quality welds in a fast-paced plant environment.

The ideal candidate reads production drawings accurately, measures precisely, and operates shop tools with care. This role is based in Hillsboro, TX and requires teamwork, reliability, and adherence to production

Qualifications

• Must have welding certification and pass welding tests (GMAW/SMAW).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience cutting and welding in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Read production drawings and verify specifications.
• Cut steel and weld assemblies to blueprint specs.
• Operate tools such as band saw, drill press, and ironworker.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Assist in the production of steel products by performing a variety of duties. Candidates will perform an array of tasks such as housekeeping, following safety requirements, cutting steel, moving materials throughout the facility. Responsible for cutting welded assemblies to blueprint specifications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform additional duties as requested or required

We are seeking a safety-focused Certified Welder with experience in cutting, welding, and fabricating steel components to blueprint specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to read drawings, take accurate measurements, and work efficiently in a production environment. This individual works well with others and is committed to quality, safety, and meeting production goals.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• Must possess a welding certification
• Must be able to pass welding test for GMAW and SMAW
• Previous work experience in cutting and welding

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
• Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
• Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
• Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors
• Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
