Wells is hiring a safety-focused Certified Welder to cut, weld, and fabricate steel components to blueprint specifications. You will read drawings, take precise measurements, and work efficiently in a production environment while collaborating with teammates to meet production goals.

Ideal candidates have a welding certification, can pass GMAW/SMAW tests, and possess experience in cutting and welding. The role is on-site with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Must possess a welding certification.
• Must be able to pass welding tests for GMAW and SMAW.
• Previous work experience in cutting and welding.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
• Read and interpret production drawings.
• Read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch.
• Use tools such as hammer, measuring tape, drill press, band saw, and ironworker.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety policies and procedures.

Assist in the production of steel products by performing a variety of duties. Candidates will perform an array of tasks such as housekeeping, following safety requirements, cutting steel, moving materials throughout the facility. Responsible for cutting welded assemblies to blueprint specifications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a safety-focused Certified Welder with experience in cutting, welding, and fabricating steel components to blueprint specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to read drawings, take accurate measurements, and work efficiently in a production environment. This individual works well with others and is committed to quality, safety, and meeting production goals.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• Must possess a welding certification
• Must be able to pass welding test for GMAW and SMAW
• Previous work experience in cutting and welding

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionaly and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
• Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
• Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
• Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors
• Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
