Job description

Join to apply for the Certified Welder role at John H. Carter Company, Inc.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Create quality welds in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and have welds pass inspection/examination in accordance with ASME Sec IX acceptance criteria, utilizing typical welding inspection non-destructive examination methods.
  2. Prepare products to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
  3. Change wire and welding as needed.
  4. Change gas tanks as required.
  5. Inspect the worksite for obstructions and plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts with other workers.
  6. Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  7. Observe and comply with all safety, project rules, and company policies.
  8. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or trade school certification in craft preferred; significant hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Strong experience in welding of plate, piping (including small bore), and structural components, using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial welding experience preferred, but lesser experience may be considered depending on the individual.
