Job description

Position Title: Certified Waste Water Treatment Operator

Location: Bristol, TN

Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a qualified Waste Water Treatment Operator for an exciting opportunity in Bristol, TN.

Position Overview:

The Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical treatment of wastewater. This position will execute policies and assignments received from corporate management, comply with requirements defined by state & federal regulating agencies, and collaborate with plant management. Success in this role requires a high degree of independent judgment and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Perform assigned treatment plant rounds; inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, performance test, and document plant processes.
  2. Operate and adjust treatment plant pumps, motors, feeders, and other equipment to maintain proper plant operations.
  3. Maintain, compile, and update plant operation logs and reports; perform and record mathematical calculations related to plant activities.
  4. Mix and add treatment chemicals; ensure proper chemical application according to regulations and guidelines.
  5. Maintain, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and service plant machinery and equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, reservoirs, and feeders.
  6. Collect and document samples; perform routine wastewater laboratory tests; monitor laboratory results; coordinate with laboratory vendors as needed.
  7. Perform general plant facility maintenance such as cleaning, painting, and repairs; perform grounds maintenance duties as required.
  8. Plan, organize workload, and schedule time effectively to meet job demands.
  9. Work cooperatively and professionally with PSI staff and onsite personnel.
  10. Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Adhere to PSI policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  12. Attend meetings, events, and other functions as required.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills:
  1. Ability to pass a background check to access the facility.
  2. Must have a Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator, Level 2 certification in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, or Kentucky.
  3. Ability to operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
  4. Ability to perform, analyze, and interpret laboratory tests for operational adjustments.
  5. Knowledge of mechanical, biological, and chemical processes in wastewater treatment.
  6. Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and work in physically demanding environments.
  7. Must pass a pre-employment background check.
